Virgin Galactic Set to Begin First Commercial Spaceflights in June, Starting with Galactic 01
Virgin Galactic announced this week that they will commence their first commercial spaceflights as early as June 27th, starting with Galactic 01. This first spaceflight will be a scientific research mission carrying three crew members from the Italian Air Force and National Research Council of Italy to study microgravity.
Galactic 01’s scientific payloads aim to showcase the value and power of the innovative suborbital space lab that Virgin Galactic offers. Galactic 02, planned for an August 2023 launch, extends the Virgin Galactic experience to private astronauts. One caveat: it costs $450,000 USD for a seat.
Virgin Galactic is an aerospace and space travel company, pioneering human spaceflight for private individuals and researchers with its advanced air and space vehicles. It has developed a spaceflight system designed to connect the world to the love, wonder and awe created by space travel and to offer customers a transformative experience,” said the company.
